PRESCOTT - Licensed massage therapists Misty Loy and Stacey Kocis operate separate businesses under the same roof, and believe they complement each other.

By sharing the roof, they pass on cost savings to their clients. They opened Prescott LMT (Kocis) and Destination Relaxation (Loy) in July at 1680 Iron Springs Road, Suite 101  Prescott, AZ.

They said they chose the location because hair stylists they know had opened a salon in the building, adding space was available for rent. The two women previously worked at a salon and day spa.

"I think I have more of the marketing end of the business," Kocis said. "That is why we complement each other. Both of us care about people's well-beings."

Kocis and Loy said they provide massages to help heal people who suffer from a variety of ailments, diseases and injuries. The conditions include rheumatoid arthritis, sports injuries, pre- and post-surgery, and muscle and back pain.

Other services include maternity massages for expectant mothers as well as massages for couples, they said. Massage sessions can last for 30 minutes to two hours.

Loy said, "Also, people just want to relax."

Stacey Kocisand Misty Loy  , owners of Prescott LMT and Destination Relaxation, perform a couple’s massage on their customers Monday afternoon at their perfectly designed room at 1680 Iron Springs Road Suite 101 in Prescott.

Stacey concurred, saying a number of clients handle a lot of stress in their lives.

Kocis has been a massage therapist for two years while Loy has done it for five years. Stacey said she initially wanted to be a physical therapist, and that led to her calling as a Massage Therapist.

"Massage was very close to physical therapy," said Kocis, who studied here in Prescott for her Massage Therapy License.

Misty, who studied in Phoenix, said, "I always wanted to do something in the health care field. I like the holistic approach a lot better."

Loy and Kocis work by appointment, and accept referrals from doctors and dentists. They can book appointments the same day.

Loy's schedule is all-day Sundays and Mondays, Tuesday mornings, Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Kocis's schedule is all-day Wednesdays and Thursdays, Tuesday afternoons, Friday mornings and Saturday afternoons.
